For the process to shave copper wires, aluminum wires, gold wires and titanium wires that are required to have severe wire surface quality, diamond dies are most suitable since they have far superior properties to cemented carbide and tool steel dies.
Characteristics
- Used for shaving wires in an intermediate process of wire drawing. Improved wire surface gloss to meet severe quality requirements. Tool life 20 to 100 times longer than carbide dies, though it depends on wire materials. Long tool life to lead to shorter setup time and reduced waste materials.
