Troubleshooting of diamond drawing dies

Symptom Possible Cause Corrective Action
Poor texture after drawing (glaring included)
※Glaring: Glaring of wire texture found by visual inspection.
Seizure due to poor lubrication. Change the shape specifications (Bell-to-approach angle adjustment, etc.)
Transfer to wires due to poorly polished inner surface of the die. Change the row stone. (If SD is used, change it to AD or change the grain diameter.)
Wires scraped by sharp corners of the reduction-to-bearing section. Change to the corner adjustment specifications.
Wire tendency Asymmetry of the die shape. Investigation is required.
Incorrect incoming angle.
Drawing direction
If the concentricity with the hole based on the case periphery has shifted, the case needs to be corrected.
Wire breakage Bearing part "too long" Change the shape specifications (Bearing length adjustment)
Reduction of area "high" Change the shape specifications (Reduction angle adjustment or Bearing length adjustment)
Drawing force "large" due to "large" wear Consultation is required.
Wire diameter after drawing "small" Bearing part "too long" Change the shape specifications (Bearing length adjustment)
Reduction angle "too large" Change the shape specifications (Reduction angle adjustment)
Short life Concentricity of wire with the die hole is shifted. Consultation is required.
Thermal problems due to poor lubrication. Change the shape specifications (Bell-to-approach angel adjustment)
